• Loc-Tite formulas are selected on the basis of the diameter of the fastener, and the strength of the bond required.
• Generally, #222 is used on fasteners up to 5/1 6 inch (8 mm) diameter.
• If a particu larly strong bond is required, or the fastener diameter is greater than 5/1 6 inch (8 mm), :# 242 is specified.
• Loc-Tite may significantly increase the torque necessary to remove a fastener.
• Be careful when applying extra force as this risks damaging the parts.
• Use only the specified formula on each fastener requiring Loc-Tite. Loc-Tite # 222 and :# 242 are industrial designations.
• The consumer equivalent wh ich may be substituted is Loc-Tite ” Lock ‘n Sea l,” product number 21, blue.
