FOREWORD:

  • This book is written to give the owner/operator necessary operating, regular servicing and preventive maintenance instructions for the 631 Bobcat Loader.
  • Read this manual completely and know the loader completely before operating and servicing. To find a section, put thumb on the tab and turn pages until the correct section “TAB” is found.
  • For any additional information needed, see your Bobcat dealer.
  • Do not do any service procedures that are not in this Owner’s Manual! Only service personnel that have had training in service of the Bobcat loader can do these service procedures.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Complete instructions for operating the Bobcat Loader with safety and efficiency are given on the following pages. Follow these instructions carefully.
  • You must remember operator safety at all times while you operate the loader Read the safety rules inside the front cover of this manual. It is important that you use the following procedures when you operate the loader.
1. Use the safety treads and grab handles when getting on or getting off the loader (Fig. 11. A WARNING Before you get off the loader. Lower the lift arms. Set the parking brake.
2. Adjust the seat position for easy operation of the loader (Fig. 2). Fasten the seat belt (Fig. 31 and check that the parking brake is engaged before you start the engine.
3. All controls must be in neutral before starting the engine.
4. Keep personnel away from the work area while you are operating the loader.
5. Fully lower the lift arms and bucket. Engage the parking brake before you leave the operator’s seat.
6. Fill the fuel tank after the engine is stopped and has cooled. The area must have good ventilation and be free of sparks or open fire.
