General Directions:
For correct reassembly, follow the reverse order of the dismantling procedure, paying special attention to each operation where specifically mentioned.
Please note:
- Gaskets, oil rings, clamps, and sealing washers made from deformable materials (such as copper, aluminum, etc.), as well as self-locking nuts, must always be renewed.
- Bearings are designed and engineered to last for a specific number of working hours. It is advisable to replace bearings that experience the greatest wear and tear, especially since these are often difficult to check for wear.
This recommendation is in addition to verifying the sizes of individual components, as detailed in the relevant section (see paragraph “ENGINE OVERHAULING”).
We emphasize the importance of thoroughly cleaning all components before reassembly. Bearings and all parts subject to wear should be lubricated with engine oil prior to reassembly.
Finally, ensure that screws and nuts are tightened to the prescribed torque settings, and properly locked where required.
