• Drive is transferred from the engine sheave to the beater sheave (on left hand side of combine). A sprocket on the beater shaft directs chain drive to the reduction jackshaft and on to the distribution auger. The auger acts as a jackshaft to turn a sprocket keyed on the end of the auger shaft (on right hand side of machine).
• This powers the upper head drive sprocket and shaft of the elevator. The flight chain is driven by a sprocket keyed to the upper shaft and in turn drives the bottom sprocket. The bottom sprocket is keyed to the clean grain or bean auger shaft, thus driving it. See Figure A—5. A jump clutch is located on the right hand side of the upper elevator head.
