GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
USING THIS BOOK TO IDENTIFY PARTS
- This book has been prepared from the engineering drawings and the bills of material used to produce the specific unit and identified by the machine serial number.
- It includes all assemblies and parts that may eventually require replacement over the life of the machine except for: electrical system; air compressor; diesel engine; annunciator system; jib and/or overhead hoist; air conditioner; others (as required).
- These vendor-supplied components, if included on your machine, are supported by individual parts catalogs supplied along with this parts book. This book has been organized by groups of related or mating components that form machine assemblies.
- Each assembly is represented in this book by one or more illustrations and a companion parts list. EACH ASSEMBLY IS ASSIGNED A GROUP NAME AND GROUP NUMBER WHICH APPEAR AT THE TOP OF EACH ILLUSTRATION AND PARTS LIST PAGE (PARTS LISTS FOLLOW THE ILLUSTRATION(S) FOR EACH GROUP).
- These groups are organized by major machine structures (e.g. lower frame, cab, etc.) which form the sections or chapters of the book.
- The table of contents identifies by name and group number the assemblies contained in each section. The illustration(s) for each group identifies the repair parts by visual representation in their approximate position relative to other components in the assembly (views may be two or three-dimensional and assembled or exploded-view).
- Each repair part is assigned an item number (circled number) which corresponds to the item number on the repair parts list.
- This visual representation may be sufficient to identify the part you need to order, but it should be carefully checked against the part description on the repair parts list before ordering. The repair parts list that corresponds to the group illustration contains all the information to identify the part.
In addition to the item number that corresponds to the illustration, the repair parts list includes: –
Part Number: This uniquely identifies the item in Marion‘s parts ordering and inventory system.
-Reference: Used primarily for internal purposes by Marion (this number may have been used by Marion on older machines to identify parts, and some customer parts inventory may be cataloged by these numbers.
The part number/reference number can be cross-referenced in these instances to check if the part is in stock at the mine).
– Description: Includes the part name (e.g., capscrew, sprocket) and, in many instances, dimensions or other numbers which define the part.
Right-hand and left-hand designations on the upper frame correspond to the operator‘s right and left hands when he is facing forward. On the lower frame, standing at the rear or crawler driving end and facing forward, right and left hands correspond to your own right and left hands.
– Quantity Required: Identifies the number of the particular part that is used in this group.
