GENERAL INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION TO THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL

• The EIMCO Mining Machinery Company is pleased to supply these quality, high performance machines to the mining industry and look forward to hearing from you on any questions that may arise as you study this manual. Because of the similarity in the four models of the Dash Series miners, we are able to cover all models in one manual. Significant differences are identified and covered in each section. At the back of each section are reference figures to supplement and expand the section text.
• At the back of this General Information section are Figures G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, and G-5. which identify the different Dash Series miners. The procedures in the “mechanical” sections of this manual direct the removal and installation of subassemblies. EIMCO suggests that replacement of entire subassemblies, rather than some individual parts, may be more cost-effective and reduce the miner down time.
• If a procedure does not appear in this manual, contact a EIMCO service representative before attempting to perform it. The “electrical, “hydraulic” and “water” sections of this manual cover the various schematics and their special features.

SAFETY FIRST

Become thoroughly familiar with the safety and operating instructions in Section 1 before trying to operate the miner or perform any of the procedures. Also be aware of the safety hazards addressed in each section. They are conspicuously marked and have been included to protect you.
