GENERAL INFORMATION:
INTRODUCTION:

• This manual covers the operation, lubrication and maintenance of the
  Marion Model 151-M Ward-Leonard Electric Shovel. The information, measurements and
  specifications herein are Marion Power Shovel Company Engineering Standards and must
  be strictly adhered to in all maintenance and repair of the machine.
• Power excavating equipment is subjected to tremendous stresses and shock loads. These
  loads and stresses have been thoroughly studied and considered in the design and building
  of Marion Equipment. Marion Shovels are designed to provide a reserve of power and
  strength and with good care and maintenance will provide the owner with many years of
  excellent service.

PARTS :

• Parts books have been furnished for this machine which list all parts by group
  numbers with item and part numbers for your specific machine. When ordering parts, always
  give the serial number and type of machine, item and part number and group or repair
  list number. This will assist the Parts Department in filling your order promptly.
• The serial number of the machine can be found on the name plate attached to the left
  side of the ballast box. If the serial number is not available, the machine may be identified
  if the names of previous owners can be furnished.
• Right and left hand parts of the upper frame can be determined by looking from the rear
  of the machine toward the front. Right and left hand parts of the lower frame can be
  determined by standing at the rear (crawler drive end) and looking forward.
• The parts books furnished with this machine contain all the necessary information for
  properly ordering parts. Order carefully so that the proper parts and quantities can be
  furnished. Wrong parts, ordered by mistake, which are returned to the company are subject
  to a rehandling charge.
