General
This installation guideline constitutes instructions and technical advice for companies carrying out crane
installations and is applicable to all PALFINGER MARINE/ CRANE POWER cranes (without slewing ring of
PK XXX M series).
The Installation Company is responsible for the adherence to the following points:
⇒ National legal regulations.
⇒ Regulations of customer, owner or shipyard.
⇒ Operational and traffic safety.
⇒ Classification in the correct load carrying category.
The classification upon usage as intended can be taken from the technical data sheet DTxxx/04/xx.
Possible deviations or special installation require the crane classification to be re-determined (carrying load
change).
The following setting is specified as standard: H1/B3
It is necessary to contact PALFINGER MARINE/ CRANE POWER if crane classification is changed.
ATTENTION ! Usage contrary to the intended purpose will result in
premature wear and overloading of components.
The crane installation party is also responsible for the following:
⇒ Adherence to and proper installation according to installation.
⇒ Stability throughout the working range.
⇒ Opportunity to carry out maintenance at the place of installation and on the crane.
⇒ Crane stability during installation (e.g. holding with another crane while not yet secured).
⇒ Observation of safety regulations and guidelines on the ship
