GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• The Gardner-Denver Mark IIIA (Figure 1-1) is a two boom all-hydraulic operated Jumbo drilling rig mounted on a heavy-duty carriage for stability and efficiency in drilling underground through hard rock. The rig is easily manueverable in most drilling situations.
• The Mark IIIA utilizes a highly efficient hydraulic drilling team … the Model HPR1 Hydraulic Drill and HFM Hydraulic Feed. This combination is designed for faster rock penetration for hole sizes from 1-1/2″ to 2-1/2″ (38 mm to 64 mm). The Mark IIIA with HPR1 features fully automatic blowing air and hole-cleaning water with manual override capability, plus automatic drill return ..
• Powered by a Deutz Diesel engine, the Mark IIIA Jumbo can be trammed into position, then connected to mine air, water, and electric power for drilling.
• The operator’s drilling console has controls grouped for efficiency and ease. Warning lights and gauges are conveniently located to provide the operator with drilling and maneuvering pressure readings, brake system pressure, etc. The tramming console includes engine operating gauges and controls for engine oil pressure, motor temperature, and fuel level.
• A rollover-type boom provides maximum maneuverability in positioning to drill the face. Drill positioning is accomplished by moving the boom swing, boom lift, boom rollover, feed dump, feed swing, and feed extension cylinders to cover a pattern approximately 19 feet high by 32 feet wide (5.79m x 9.75m).
