• The 3D tilt monitor system provides the height measurement at 3 different positions on a shield. Calibration of the system is achieved by taking two measurements on the shield and inputting these heights into the local PMC-R.
• The purpose of the tilt monitoring system is To reduce the likelihood of damaging in-shield components and spill trays caused by shields lowering too far.
• To provide a true height that will be used for shearer anti-collision protection. To detect unplanned movement of a shield. To provide accurate shield height data for analysis.
