INTRODUCTION:

This operator’s manual provides information on the use, adjustment and operation of the CLAAS “DIRECT DISC” cutter unit. Note that in the following chapters the CLAAS “DIRECT DISC” cutter unit is also referred to as the front attachment. Follow the advice on correct maintenance and servicing in order to ensure maximum performance and a long service life of your front attachment.

• Also, have assembly of your front attachment and regular inspections carried out by your specialist workshop. Failure to carry out maintenance work, or incorrect operation will result in poor machine efficiency and loss of valuable time.
• By ensuring correct operation, and carrying out maintenance and service work with care, you will be able to make full use of state-of-the-art technology and of the experience with which your front attachment has been designed.

Note that in the following chapters the CLAAS “DIRECT DISC” cutter unit is also referred to as the front attachment. The instructions in this operator’s manual must be read carefully and followed by all persons concerned with the operation, maintenance, repair or inspection of this front attachment in order to prevent accidents. Some safety guards and covers have been removed for illustration in this manual. All safety shields and covers must be attached before the front attachment is put into operation. In particular, read the sections “Safety rules” and “Prior to operation” in the operater’s manual CLAAS JAGUAR 900, 890, 870, 850, 830.
