INTRODUCTION :

These instructions describe how to assemble and operate the folding cutterbar, and how to mount the necessary accessories on the machine.

• The accessory parts for the switching equipment and the additional driving lights are listed in Group 7.1. You should explain the function, operation and maintenance to the customer on the basis of these instructions.
• Please hand over these instructions to the customer subsequently. These instructions are only valid when used in conjunction with the combine harvester operating instructions.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

VEHICLE TYPE APPROVAL :

Installing the foldable 5.40 m or 4.50 m cutterbar will invalidate the Vehicle Type Approval of your combine harvester. Therefore, it will be necessary to obtain a new Type Approval for the combine harvester from the relevant authorities by presenting a certificate confirming the combine harvester’s technical condition (§ 19, Section 2 of German Regulations authorizing the Use of Vehicles for Road Traffic). The new certificate can be issued e.g. by your local Technical Inspection Association. On request, and to simplify the certification procedure, CLAAS can provide a sample certificate specifying the harvester type, the machine number, and the year of manufacture or will carry out the acceptance together with TÜV Hannover e.V. Specific care must be taken regarding the necessary counterweights on the steering axle to prevent lifting while braking. If no counterweights are fitted, the certificate might not be issued.
