INTRODUCTION

This manual is for the CLAAS LEXION 580, LEXION 570 and the LEXION 560 – 510 combine harvesters. This manual shows you how to convert the combine harvester from

– grain to
grain-maize / corn cob mix (CCM)
and from
– grain-maize / corn cob mix (CCM) to grain

• This manual includes only points deviating from the Operator’s Manual. Installation and removal of the sieves, separating grates and concave segments can be taken from the Operator’s Manual. The relevant combine harvester Operator’s Manual applies for operating the machine.
• The shipping package for maize and grain equipment is listed on page 4.1.1. The shipping package for converting the straw chopper is listed on page 6.1.1. Each part is provided with a part number. Please consult the “Shipping Package” list for details of part specifications, for example for screws.
• This list includes the dimensions and the number of bolts as well as the associated parts such as nuts and contact washers. Texts and pictures in this manual apply generally to all combines covered. Notes and comments will alert you to any differences between individual types

• Parts such as nuts and contact washers do not have part numbers. These parts are listed under the part number for the screws with which they are fitted.
• To make the installation instructions clearer, existing parts are labelled with letters while new parts are labelled with numbers (part numbers).
