INTRODUCTION

This manual describes the safe and time-saving procedure for attaching the CLAAS Auto-Contour optional equipment with the mounting kit part no. 998 346.2 for MEDION and LEXION Please read this manual thoroughly before starting work! Pay particular attention to the »General Information « section. The following machines can be modified:

The package lists are given on page 4.3 and page 4.5. Before starting work make sure that the mounting kit is complete. The “Package list” list is also considered a supplement to the spare parts list.

General Information
OF SPECIAL IMPORTANCE

• instructions set forth in this manual must be read carefully and followed by all persons concerned with the operation, maintenance, repair, conversion or inspection of this machine and auxiliary equipment in order to prevent accidents.
• Pay particular attention to the »General Information« section in the operator’s manual and observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your jurisdiction. Clean the machine before starting work. Welding and grinding work on the machine may cause fire if accumulated vegetation, grease and dirt is not removed.
• Before starting work make sure that you have all the required tools and equipment. Make sure that the machine and attachment type, the description in the »Package list« section and the supplied parts set all match. See the »Package list« list for parts specifications, such as screws and bolts. Every part is given an item number (Item no.) in this list.
• Additional parts information includes the part no., the name, the dimensions, the DIN and the number. In the assembly descriptions existing parts are labelled with letters and new parts with numbers (item numbers) for better orientation. Text and pictures are kept as neutral as possible.
• Text notes call attention to differences in the specific types. Technical details, dimensions and weights are understood with the usual tolerances. Forwards, backwards, right and left are always in the direction of travel.
