• Electric Truck Trouble Shooting may sound intimidating, but if you can trouble shoot internal combustion engines or a hydraulic system, you can trouble shoot an electric truck. In fact, electrical and hydraulic controls operate on similar principles.
• Both systems have power sow·ces: the hydraulic system relies on a pump and the electrical system on a battery. The flow of hydraulic fluid through hoses and tubes resembles the flow of electricity through cables and wires. And the hydraulic valves regulate the flow of fluid in much the same way that switches, contactors, and resistors regulate electricity.
• Moreover, troubleshooting an electric system requires the same sort of logical approach you use to locate a faulty valve or a damaged hose. This class will teach you a step-by-step process to follow each time you service a customer’s truck. If you follow the process, you will be able to deal with your customer’s problems confidently, safely, and effectively.
• In class, your instructor will provide you with hands-on experience troubleshooting. You’ll practice basic checks, as well as more advanced testing for specific problems in the electrical controls. By the end of the day, you will be ready to tackle a trouble shooting problem on your own.
