• This manual is intended to be used by persons who are trained and authorized to do lift truck maintenance. The purpose of this manual is to outline the recommended procedures required for doing routine maintenance for your lift truck on a scheduled, periodic basis. It is written to show and describe each step of the inspections, tests, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments that are normally required to maintain your lift truck in an efficient and safe operating condition.
• To be better prepared to do the necessary maintenance work, take time to read the subject index, the safety information and the know-your-truck sections. These pages will help you understand your truck and provide instructions for safe maintenance paractices. After you have read the introductory sections in this manual, you may want to read the Operator’s Manual located on the truck.
• The Operator’s Manual can tell you how to start and operate your lift truck safely. This manual is arranged to first outline the recommended planned maintenance (PM) program. Then, more detailed procedures are presented to give further instructions and information which you will need for lubrication and minor adjustments, replacements or repair.
• Please be sure to read the entire procedure before doing any work. The detailed procedures are arranged in sequence by numbered GROUP and Section. The GROUP numbers are the same as the component group in the Parts Manual. The GROUP number identification is also the same as used for reference on the PM Report form. Truck data and other useful information is collected into GROUP 40 at the back of the manual for easy reference.
• In this Group you will find a suggested list of tools you will need in a PM program. Also included for your reference are listings of useful specifications for major components, fuel and lubricants, critical fastener (bolt) torques, fill capacities and settings for your truck.
