‘INTRODUCTION
These operating instructions provide details on the application, adjustment and operation of the combined round baler and bale wrapper. ROLLANT 255 RC UNIWRAP Follow the tips for the correct care and maintenance of your machine so that it will always remain in working order and to ensure a long service life for the round baler. Have your machine inspected by your CLAAS workshop immediately after the harvest to prepare it for the winter as is recommended in this manual. Neglecting the maintenance or improper operation can lead to lower performance and loss of time. Compliance with instructions for use and mainteance will ensure you high performance of your equipment as you will bebefit from our experience and techniques in harvesting.
General information
ROAD TRAFFIC
- The machine operator must have a copy of the General Type Approval (ABE) issued by the Ministry of Transports or the individual type approval and two wheel chocks at hand.
- When driving on public roads with the agricultural or forestry working equipment (baler with/without bale wrapper) attached, all duties determined under C in the copy of the ABE issued by the Ministry of Transports (§ 18, para. 5, StVZO) or the duties and notes listed in the individual type approval must be observed. In particular, there must not be a bale inside the baler or on the bale wrapper respectively.
- If in the future, parts of the baler with/without bale wrapper, the conditions of which are clearly specified, are changed or modified in such a way that their operation will endanger any other participants in traffic, the type approval will become invalid and a new
- type approval must be applied for. In this case the working equipment must be presented to the responsible technical inspection authority for motor vehicles (e.g. TÜV) for issuing an expertice (§19, para. 2, StVZO). If you are in doubt that this may be the case, please contact us as the manufacturer. If the baler with/without bale wrapper is attached to a towing vehicle, the following items must be connected:
1. The supply line (marked red) and the brake line (marked yellow) of the dual circuit compressed air brake system or the hydraulic hose for the hydraulically-activated brake.
2. The cable of the lighting equipment. Before starting to drive the condition of:
– the connection between vehicle and baler,
– the compressed air brake system,
– the hydraulic brake system,
– the lighting system
must be checked.
If the registration plate the vehicle owner has received for one of his vehicles is covered when attaching the baler with/without bale wrapper, an unstamped registration plate of the same type must be attached to the baler with/without bale wrapper together with a registration plate illumination. The road traffic regulations (StVO) may be different in the individual countries. The maximum speed under the road traffic regulations for the country of operation must be observed. However the hitched baler is designed to travel at a maximum speed of 40 km per hour (25 mph). It is not permissible to exceed that speed
