1.1 General Information
1.1.1 Using this manual

This operator’s manual is primarily intended for the machine operator and contains information on using, setting and operating the guidance system. Provided all instructions regarding operation and maintenance of your machine are followed, you can count on many years of reliable service. If you make use of the many years of experience and latest technology incorporated in this guidance system, the guidance system will always work effectively. Depending on the correction signal variant in the purchased system, individual chapters of this manual may not be relevant for you.

Text and illustrations

The photos and graphics in this manual apply to all product variants. Differences are indicated by notes underneath the particular illustration. Wherever possible, text passages apply to all product variants and have been kept concise. Differences are indicated by intermediate headings. The different types of text can be easily distinguished from each other by their formatting. The following different formats are used:

2.1.1 Read and follow any safety instructions

Before putting the machine into operation, read the Operator’s Manual and follow the safety instructions

2.1.2 Particularly important

The instructions contained in this manual should be carefully read and observed by all persons involved with the operation, maintenance and inspection of this CLAAS product in order to avoid hazards. In particular, the “Safety”, “Preparing the machine” and “Operation” chapters of the Operator’s Manual of the GPS PILOT must be read. The use of spare parts, accessories and ancillary equipment other than genuine CLAAS products or those which have been tested and approved by CLAAS, may impair the specified design characteristics of the CLAAS GPS PILOT or detract from its functional performance, with a possible adverse effect on the active and/or passive operational safety of the machine and its occupational safety standards (accident prevention). CLAAS will assume no liability whatsoever for damage occurred as a result from the use of non-genuine parts, accessories and ancillary equipment.
