INTRODUCTION :

These instructions describe how to assemble and operate the 4.50 m folding cutterbar together and how to assemble the required accessories on the machine. You should explain the function, operation and maintenance to the customer on the basis of these instructions. These instructions are only valid when used in conjunction with the combine harvester operating instructions.

Preface :

On fitting the 4.50 m grain cutting unit, foldable, the operating licence of your combine harvester will become invalid. For this reason, it will be necessary to request a new operating licence for the combine harvester from the relevant authorities (registration office) upon presentation of a certificate for the combine harvester to the administration (§ 19 Para.

• 2 StVZO). The new certificate is issued by the relevant “Technical Monitoring Association” (TÜV). In order to make the acceptance easier, upon request, CLAAS can produce a sample certificate by stipulating the MD type, the machine number and the year of manufacture, or it can undertake an acceptance together with the TÜV in Hanover.
• Specific care must be taken with regard to the required weight increase on the steering axle to prevent lifting while braking. If their is no weight increase, then the TÜV might not issue a certificate.
