TWO-WHEEL DRIVE OPERATION :
Two-wheel drive operation is provided by a disconnect mechanism In the front axle. A vacuum operated shill motor on the axle disconnecls the right hand axle shalt when two- wheel drive range is selected. The axle shift mole: l$ controlled by a vacuum switch that is actuated by the transler case shift sector and linkage.
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE OPERATION :
Two Internal mechanisms provide four-wheel drive Operation. A vammm shift motor connects the right hand axle shaft and a synchronizer assembly engages the transfer case front output shalt. The shift motor ls operated by a vacuum switch mounted on the transfer case. The switch is actuated by the transfer case shift linkage.
