FOREWORD:

This manual is intended for the operator and the maintenance man whose responsibility it is to operate and maintain the HAULPAK Truck. A satisfactory service life for a machine depends upon the careful adherence to the proper preventive maintenance measures, the periodic mechanical adjustments, and the elimination of operational irregularities before large scale problems develop, requiring extended down times.

• The operator of the HAULPAK Truck should be a qualified and experienced individual who has had the proper training to insure safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. The qualified operator can prolong useful life of the vehicle and prevent costly down time by simply following procedures designed to eliminate failures resulting from improper operation.
• It must be remembered that, while equipment of this type is rugged in design, poor operation and neglect can be a major factor contributing to the loss of an important vehicle. Training for both operators and maintenance personnel is available upon request.
• Operator training is accomplished in the field by qualified operator instructors. Maintenance training may be obtained at factory training facilities. All requests for either operator training or maintenance training should be forwarded to the local WABCO distributor for action.
• By careful study of the following text and the proper application of the operational procedures, an operator can become one of the most important men on any job. Remember that pride in your operating efficiency and respect for your vehicle are your most important assets.
• Illustrations used in this manual are representative and do not necessarily depict a specific model. Adoption of the International System of Units (SI) is under way in the United States to implement conversion from the U.S. system of measurements to the metric SI system. This manual shows dual dimensioning (USI‘SI) throughout with conversion tables furnished for applicable frequently used conversions.
