This manual is written for use by the operator and/or the service technician. It is designed to help these persons to
become knowledgeable with a Machine Intervention Controller (MIC) and all of its systems in order to keep it
operating safely and efficiently for use in third party detection systems such as a Collision Avoidance System
(CAS). All operators and maintenance personnel should read and understand the information in this manual before
operating a vehicle equipped with a MIC or performing maintenance and/or operational checks on a MIS. All safety
notices, warnings, and cautions should be understood and followed when operating a vehicle equipped with a MIC
or performing repairs on a MIS. A MIC provides an interface between Third Party Proximity Detection Systems
(PDS) and Truck systems.
This manual provides MIS operation instructions for use as part of a CAS on the following Komatsu dump truck
