Two compression rat10s are availaะฌle, either 7 :1 or 8 :1; the former gives 77 bhp at 4250 rev/ m1n and the latter 81 bhp ะ chain driven camshaft w1th ะฐ cha1n tens1oner prov,des the means of operation for the valve gear.
- In part sect1on The 2.6 litre engine 1s ะฐ s1x-cylinder of unusual layout The cylinder ะซะพัk is of cast 1ron w1th an 1ncl1ned top face which carries the alum1n1um alloy cyl1nder head Overhead inlet and s1de exhaust valves are f1tted. ะฌoth operated from ะฐ cha1n driven camshaft ะ hydraul1c chain tensioner maintains the chain tenslon.
