Foot Brake System
- The foot brake system is a secondary brake slows or stops machine travel. The foot pedals located in front of each operators position are joined on a common shaft below deck and connected directly to a master cylinder.
- The master cylinder hydraulically actuates the four disc brake units located on the output flanges of the traction transmission. Hand Brake System ThE

- is a secondary or parking brake that holds the machine when stopped.
- The hand brake handles are located on the deck to the outside of each operator’s position. Each handle operates independently, but both must be fully released before moving the machine.
Electrical System
- Protection for the electrical system is provided by two (2) circuit breakers, two (2) main relays and a starter relay located in the Engine Junction box on the left side of the engine compartment. A twelve (12) volt battery, located in the right rear corner of the engine compartment provides starting power for the engine.
Hydraulic System
- The RW-195E hydraulic system is composed of three separate systems the traction drive system, which has a maximum operating pressure of 345 bar (5000 psi), the dual-drive conveyor system with a maximum operating pressure of 290 bar (4200 psi), and the general
hydraulic system
- which has a maximum operating pressure of 103 bar (1500 psi).
- The general purpose pump supplies steering, conveyor shuttle, strike-off extension, inner and outer strikeoff elevation, hopper lip, rear wheel steering, and options such as vibratory strike-off, broom drive, and lift and truck hitch functions.
- Care must be taken when working on or servicing the hydraulic systems to keep any dirt or foreign material from entering the systems. Foreign material in the hydraulic systems can cause the components to fail.
Hydraulic Traction Drive
- The RW-195E Road Widener, powered by a Cummins diesel engine, delivers mechanical power through a PTO clutch and a pump drive box.
- Traction drive power is hydrostatically transmitted via the pump box and variable displacement hydrostatic traction drive pump to a fixed displacement traction drive motor, and then to a three (3) speed transmission for speed reduction and selection.
- Then the transmission transfers the power to the forward and rear planetary drive axles, each of which has a no-spin differential.
