INTRODUCTION
1.1 Foreword

At Liebherr we believe that improving existing products is just as important as developing new ones. And so we now present the new flagship of our crawler crane series – the LR 1280. The LR 1280 boasts the following important innovations and improvements:

• Higher load capacities thanks to a larger counterweight and a new boom head.
• It is possible to utilise certain boom sections from other machines – exept the crawler crane LR 1250 – of the crawler crane series. This allows new boom configurations to be assembled (heavy or light load designs).
• New Litronic VME control system with a huge increase in computing power. This greatly reduces waiting times during set-up programming.
• New, comfortable cabin.
• New, emission-optimised diesel engine.
• Redesigned hydraulic system with improved extension and connection facilities for accessories.
About us
The name Liebherr doesn’t just stand for products and services. It has become a byword for ideas and innovations. For progress which has proved its worth in the marketplace. We constantly strive to extend and improve our diverse range of products and services. This requires ongoing cooperation and sharing of experience with our customers and business partners throughout the world. We are therefore grateful for any ideas and suggestions for improvements
