GENERAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
A — DRIVER’S OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
— Wear clothes suited for driving the lift truck, avoid loose fitting clothes!
— Never operate the vehicle when hands or feet are wet or soiled with greasy substances.
— When mounting the forklift, do not grab the steering wheel; always use the grab handle and step provided when
climbing on or off the lift truck.
— For increased comfort, adjust the driver’s seat as required.
— The operator must always be seated normally when in the driver’s seat. It is prohibited to have arms, legs or any
part of the body, extending from the cab of the lift truck.
— Always remember to fasten your seat belt and adjust it properly before operating the fork lift.
— If the forklift controls are fitted with a forced operation (lever lock) device, NEVER leave the cab without first
putting these controls in neutral.
— Never allow a passenger to travel on the lift truck or in the cab.
B — BEFORE STARTING THE LIFT TRUCK
— If the lift truck is new, refer to: BEFORE STARTING A NEW LIFT TRUCK, at the end of this chapter.
— Check the condition of the tires and tire pressures, see chapter 2: CHARACTERISTICS.
— Before starting the lift truck, check all fluid levels:
— Engine oil
— Hydraulic reservoir oil
— Cooling system
— Check for possible leaks: of oil, fuel or other fluids from the lift truck.
— Check the latches on the hood or engine compartment.
— The operator is advised to familiarize himself with the location and operation of all instruments and controls before
operating the lift truck.
