Install the water pump using new gaskets and a suitable sealing compound. The proce- dure is listed as follows: a. Align the holes in the body of the water pump with the studs in the water pump mOunting plate and slide it in place as shown in Fig. 21. b. Install the two upper capscrews at the rear of the water pump mounting plate. c. Install the nuts on the four studs in the mounting plate. d. Install the three capscrews which se— cure the cylinder block inlet connection to the cylinder block. e. Install the fan belt. f. Adjust fan belt tension to provide 1/2 to 3/4 inch belt deflection when de» pressed with approximately 3 lbs. load at center of longest span between pulleys. 10. Install the exhaust manifold and tighten the nuts to 28-32 ft.-lbs. torque. NOTE: AT6.354 Engines Only — In- stall the exhaust manifold and turbo— charger as one assembly. Reconnect turbocharger oil return line to engine side cover. 11. Install the intake manifold and tighten the nuts to 21-24 ft.-lbs. torque. 12. Install the fuel leak-off line assembly Onto the fuel injectors. 13. Install the breather pipe assembly. 14. Install the high pressure fuel lines.
