FOREWORD:

THIS OPERATOR’S HANDBOOK WAS WRITTEN TO GIVE THE OWNER/OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS ON THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE MUSTANG SKID STEER LOADER. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS SEE YOUR AUTHORIZED MUSTANG DEALER.

SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS:

• Always use the serial number of the Mustang Loader when requesting service information or when ordering parts. Early or later models (identification made by serial number) may use different parts, or it may be necessary to use a different procedure in doing specific service operation.
• The Mustang Loader serial number plate is located on the inside of the right upright, above the engine cover [A]. The engine serial number is located as shown below [BJ. On top of the engine by the oil cap.

SAFETY IS THE OPERATOR’S RESPONSIBILITY :

The Mustang Skid Steer Loader is a highly maneuverable and compact machine. It is rugged and useful under a variety of conditions. Because of this, the operator may be faced with hazards associated with offhighway, rough terrain applications. The Mustang Loader is operated by an internal combustion engine which exhausts gases and heat.

• All exhaust gases can kill or cause illness, so adequate ventilation should be used. Heat can cause burns or other associated injuries. The Mustang Loader is equipped with a spark arrestor to allow operation in certain areas. Ask an Authorized Mustang Dealer to demonstrate the safe use of the Mustang Loader and associated attachments.
• Read and follow the instructions indicated in this Operator’s Manual and the EMI Safety Manual that is included with the Mustang Loader. The operator must ensure that loads can be handled in a safe manner over the terrain that the machine must operate. Safe loads of materials of specified densities for the Mustang Loader attachment combination can be obtained from Mustang literature or from the Authorized Mustang Dealer.
