- This is to point out that a plug mint not be installed in the tapped all hole in rear end on! crankshafi, as it may appear to be in Figs. 6 and ll. A service replacement crankshaft has a plug installed in this tapped bole when l: is shipped iron: the factory.
- When installing a service replacement crankshaft, be sure to remove this plug so that engine clutch an receive all from the engine. Note the above information in your Manual and insert this mailing ml: the Iron: ofthe Manual. Additional copies of this mailing are available.

- GENERAL
- Study the Operation and Maintenance instruaion Manual be- fore starting. operating. maintaining. fueling, or servicing machine. Read and head all machine-mounted safety signs betore starting, operating, maintaining. fueing orscrvicfng machine. Machine-mounted safety signs have been colorcoded yellow wth black border and lettering lor WARNING and red with write border and lettering lor DANGER points.
- Never attempt to operate the machine or its tools from any position other than seated in the operators seat. Keep head. body, limbs. hands and feet inside operator’s compartment at all timesto reduce exposure to hazards outside the operator‘s compartment. Do not allow unauthorized personnel to operate service or maintalnthls machine.
- Always check wont area tor dangerous features. Tne tollow- ing are examples of dangerous work areas: slopes. over hangs. timber. demolltr’ms, lire. high walls. drop off. backlills, rough terrain, ditches. ridges. excavations. heavy traffic. cronded parking, crowded maintenance and closed areas.
- Use extreme care when in areas such as these. An operator must know the machine’s capabilities. When working on slopes or near drop offs be alert to avoid loose or soft condclons that could cause sudden t’pp‘ng or loss of oomrol. Do notlump on oroll machine. Keeptwc hands and one loot. ortno font and one hand. in contact with steps grab rails and handles a: a! times. Do not use control: or hoses as its-rd hold: when dimbir-g on or oil machine.
- Hoses and controls are movable and do not provide a soid support. Controls also may be inadvertently moved causing accidental machine or equipment movement. Keep operator’s compartment, stepping points. grab~rails and handles crearoi foreign objects. oil. grease. mud or snow accumulation to minimize the danger oisfpping or stumbling. Clean mud or grease trom shoes before attempting to mount or operate tne machine.
- Be careful of slippery conditions on stepping po’nts, hand rails. and onthe ground. Wearsa‘iety boots orshoesthat have a high sip resistant sole material. Foryour personal protection.
- Do not attempt to cirmb on orotl machine while machine is in motion. Never ieavethe machine unattendedwith the engine running. Always look up machine when leaving it unattended.
- Return keys to authorized security. Heed all shut down procedures ol the Operation and Maintenance Instruction Manual. Always set the parking brake when leaving the machine lor any reason. Do not won: rings, wrist watches. jewelry. loose or hanging apparel. such as thee. tom clothing. ocerves. unbuttoned or unzipped jackets thatcan catch on movirg parts. \‘lcaroropcr satcty equipment as authorized tor the job.
- Examples: hard hats, eataty shoes. heavy gloves, ear protectors. satety glasses or goggles. reflector vests. or fospiralorz Consul: yorx employer tor specific setety equipment requirements. 00 not carry loose objects in podtets that might fall unnoticed into open compartments. Do not use machine to carry loose objects by means other than attachments for carrylng such obiocts.

- DO NOT operate this machine without a Flo! Over Protective Structure. Do not operate a machine without a fanny object protective 5tructuro (FOPS). Do not operate this machine without a roar canopy screen when machine is equipped with rear mounted towing winch. Scat bolts are required to be p:ovided with roll over protect‘rre structures or roll protection cabs by local or national regulations. Keep the salary belt fastened around you during opera- tion.
