1. Remove the header to minimize the load on the front axle.
2. Thoroughly clean the area around the main frame and front axle.
3. Ensure that a suitable fire extinguisher is available.
4. Working with one reinforcement plate, remove the two front bolts, 1.
5. Cut away the u-shaped segments, 2, and the reinforcement plate, 3.
6. Clean off any residual welding material and remove all paint from the areas to be welded.
7. Position the new reinforcement plate, 1, (part number 84453482), and u-shaped segments, 2, (part number 84057820), and weld at the same locations as the original parts.
8. Reinstall the two front bolts, 3, and tighten to a torque of 485 N⋅m (358 lb-ft).
9. Weld around the hole in the new plate, 4.
