The multi-disc clutches are spring-force operated, that means, they are released by pilot pressure and closed by spring force. The pilot pressure to open the desired clutch is supplied via the pilot pressure circuit and the solenoid valve Y21.4. The two speed ratios are produced by applying pilot pressure to the clutch associated to the desired speed.
