The swing pump is a axial piston, sway plate type; the displacement increases with the increment of the angle of the plate. The plate can sway both directions, letting the oil to be forwarded to one side or the other of the system (right or left rotation). As soon as the operator actuates the pilot valve, the EHC sends a signal proportional to its travel to solenoid valve y209 or Y212 to control the sway of the plate of the swing pump. The piloting pressure reaches first the solenoid valves through the 1.4 mm orifice to port PS.
- Such pressure reaches one of the two solenoid valves and sways the plate so that the swing motor is powered in the desired direction. The swing circuit is a closed circuit, composed mainly, of a pump (model A4 VG 71 DE4D) and swing motor reduction unit. The auxiliary pump for the recovery of the oil lost due to leakages in the system.
- Filling oil is introduced into the swing main system through one of the check valves. The check valve open is the one on the low pressure side of the closed circuit. The main pressure, thus the swing torque, is limited by the pressure relief valve. Secondary valves on the swing motor protect the closed circuit from possible pressure peaks.
