Disassembly:

• Items in text are for picture . Remove bearing adjustment nut lock plates  and unscrew the bearing adjustment nuts  turn. Make punch marks on the side bearing caps  and the adjacent main case to ensure that the caps are reinstalled in the same way they we originally installed

Assembly:

• Items in text are for picture  on Page . Prior to assembly, ensure that all components to be reused are in good condition without exception. If bearings are being replaced, press the outer bearing cones (12) onto the differential case halves (17). Install the ring gear side of the differential case half in the ring gear.
• Put the differential lock engagement sleeve  and side gear with the thrust washer  into the case half. Place the differential spider gears  with their thrust washers  on the spider
• Place the spider gear assembly on the side gear in the case half. Place the other side gear  with its thrust washer on the top of the spider gears. Install the upper case half with the punch marks aligned and install cap screws  and nuts . Use Loctite locking liquid and tighten nuts to 320 Nm [236 lb ft] torque. Always use new nuts.
