Foreword

• The system uses an active load wheel axle to keep the industrial truck as horizontal as possible on uneven ground. Throughout the rest of this document, only the term is used.
• Two slope sensors on each side monitor the changes in the warehouse floor at the left-hand and right-hand load wheel. The height-adjustable load wheels compensate for the detected changes immediately while the industrial truck is in motion.
• In an ideal case, the active load wheel axle thus allows the full power of the industrial truck to be utilised on normal industrial floors (DIN 18202) too.
• The limits of the system are determined by the manner of compensation. Due to the fact that the height of the two load wheels can be adjusted, only differences between the two lanes of the load wheels can be compensated. The lane of the drive wheel and the drive wheel itself are not included.
• The active load wheel axle cannot compensate for short-wave unevenness or unevenness at right angles to the lane.

The following other situations do not have an impact
on the industrial truck:
? Cracks and holes in the ground
? Expansion joints
? Interruptions in the lane
? Increases and decreases in height with an ascending
or descending gradient of more than
The maximum compensation between the two load wheels is limited to 10 mm. Depending on the industrial truck and aisle, the maximum compensation can also be lower. If the differences detected between the two lanes are greater than 10 mm, unevenness continues to have some impact on the industrial truck.

Three variants of the industrial truck are available:

•  The industrial truck is equipped with the active load wheel axle at the factory. In this case, only the VST must be commissioned on site
• The industrial truck is prepared for the active load wheel axle at the factory. The preparation is purely mechanical. The industrial truck behaves the same as it would without the active load wheel axle. The customer can decide whether and when to retrofit the active load wheel axle
• The industrial truck is not prepared for the active load wheel axle. With this variant, no retrofit is possible
