AVOIDING ACCIDENTS

• Most accidents and injuries that occur in workshops are caused by the failure to observe some simple basic rules of care and safety. For this reason IN THE MAJORITY OF CASES THEY CAN BE AVOIDED: it is sufficient to foresee the possible causes and then act with the necessary caution and care.
• It is impossible with any type of machine, no matter how well designed and built, to definitely exclude every possibility of accident. An alert, cautious mechanic is the best guarantee against accident. The strict observance of Just one basic safety rule would be enough to avoid many serious accidents.
• ATTENTION. Never carry out any cleaning, lubricating or maintenance operation with the engine running

SAFETY PROCEDURES
GENERAL

• Follow the maintenance and repair procedures carefully.
• Never wear rings, wrist watches, jewellery, loose or dangling items of clothing such as ties, torn clothing, scarves, unbuttoned jackets or overalls with open zip fasteners that could get caught up in the moving parts. Approved safetyprevention clothing is recommended such as, helmets, anti-slip shoes, gloves, safety goggles.
• Never carry out any service operation on the machine with anyone sitting in the seat, unless the operator is fully trained and involved in the operation to be carried out.
• Never start the machine or use its attachments from any position other than the operator’s seat.
• Never carry out any operation on the machine when the engine is running, apart from when strictly necessary.
• Stop the engine and check that there is no pressure left in the hydraulic circuit before removing covers.
• See the instructions provided for this purpose in this publication.
• All service operations should be carried out with the maximum care and attention.
• The design of the service steps and platforms used in the workshop or on site should comply with current safety-prevention rules.
• Disconnect the batteries and label all the controls to indicate that a service operation is being carried out. Block the machine and any equipment to be raised.
• Never check or refill the fuel tanks, batteries and accumulators, or use the starter fluid, whilst smoking or next to naked flames, since the fluids in question are inflammable.
• The brakes are deactivated when they are released manually for service operations. In these cases, special blocks or similar devices should be used to control the machine.
• The fuel supply nozzle should always be in contact with the filler pipe. Maintain this contact until the supply is cut off to prevent sparks being produced due to the accumulation of static electricity.
• Use only the prescribed attachment points when towing. Attach the connections carefully. Check that the pins and/or bolts provided are firmly secured prior to pulling. Never stand close to drawbars, ropes or chains that are working
