INTRODUCTION:

• This repair manual covers the Model AML-Z momen t limiter installed on T ADANO hydraulic cranes. The crane models to which this manual is applicable are listed in the chart below.
• In undertaking repair, refer to the relevant parts catalog, operation and maintenance manual, and crane-covering repair manual for pertient information.

GENERAL:

The Model AML-Z moment limiter is designed for the cranes fitted with a luffing jib. It resembles the AML-M moment limiter in physical appearance, and most of its basic functions are common with the Model M. However, the Model Z has some peculiar characteristics.

• The most significant feature is that the Z stores capacity data·indexed by working radius, and can deal·with a large set of rating points of luffing jibs. The radius based rating also renders some other advantages: The total rated load value displayed is based on the displayed working radius;_ angle limit and load limit data are unnecessary; the display of the sigle top loading (%) goes more accurately with auto. stop; adjustment of the load display is not required.
• The Moment Limiter system comprises fourteen units as noted below. Functions of each unit are described in the next section.
