This workshop manual contains technical specification, descriptions and instructions for the standard versions of AQ205A, 430A, 430B, 431A, 431B, 432A and 434A. The product designation and number should be given in all correspondence about the product. This Workshop Manual shows the work procedures for a 431A.

• Please note that the illustrations used do not always fully correspond with other engines. The repair methods are identical on other versions unless otherwise stated. Important differences are described separately. NOTE! The engine 431A was introducted and for one year sold under the designation AQ205 A.
• As AQ205A and 431A are identical products, the later designation been used in this workshop manual. This Workshop Manual has been developed primarily for Volvo Penta service workshops and qualified personnel. Persons using this book are assumed to have a grounding in marine drive systems and be able to carry out related mechanical and electrical work.
