Introduction

• The monorail provides connection between services such as air and water supply lines, communications lines, the longwall substation and hydraulic pump station and the longwall face equipment and stage loader.
• The main purpose of the monorail is to allow the retreat of these services to be independent of the retreat of the face equipment and stage loader.
• The monorail was designed to provide uniformity in hose and cable lengths and to provide standard sections of monorail that are interchangeable.
• These features ease installation of the monorail as well as replacement of hoses and cables. The following are major design features.

All hoses for air, water, pump out, hydraulic pressure and return.
• Every second bumper trolley incorporates a manifold for connection of hoses making hose
replacement easy and preventing migration of hoses
