models. THEORY provides a complete overview of the theory of operation. COMPONENT LOCATION provides
photographic and graphic assistance in locating the various components of the 25C.
1ROUBLESHOOTING contains ttoubleshooting procedures, while MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES provides
detailed maintenance procedures. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES required tokeep the 25C in proper
operating condition are detailed in the final section of the book.
Description:
The 25C Rotary Blasthole Drill is used in mining operations to prepare holes for blasting. The
standard 25C is 8 Fr. (2.4m) wide and 41Fr, (12.5m) long in the ttavelling configura tion. When
required, the 25C may be moved over highways with minimum problems. Features include one-man
operation under most conditions. Automatic mechanical safety brakes are provided on both ttam and
pulldown systems for safety in operation.
Engine, Pumps & Compressor:
The 25C has a readily accessible Caterpillar diesel engine. The air compressor is driven from the
flywheel end of the engine thru a direct mounted drive coupling, Two dual hydraulic pumps are
driven from the crankshaft pully end of the engine with a universal type driveline. The primary
pump powers the ttamming, drilling, and pulldown systems. The auxiliary pump powers the cooler fan
drive motor and all of the auxiliary hydraulic _ – systems. Bit air is provided by the air
compressor, which also provides the air required to pulse clean the dust collector filters. A
hydraulic motor powered by the auxiliary system provides primary power for the dust collector. All
fluid reservoirs fill and drain ports are located conveniently at the edge of the machinery
platform.
