INTRODUCTION:

This manual covers the operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of
the 60-R and 61-R rotary blast hole drill. Every effort has been made to have this
manual as complete as possible at the time of printing. However, Bucyrus-Erie
Company reserves the right to im­ prove its products continually. For this reason,
changes may be made that are not in this manual.

• The manual is divided into 4 sections. Pages are numbered within each section. For
  example, page 2-5 is the fifth page in Section 2. Each section has a table of
  contents located on the first page of the section. Every section (except Section 4) is
  generously illustrated.
• This section, Section 1, is the introduction and general description of the machine.
  In the general description, each machinery group is described in detail. Each description
  includes an explanation of the operation of the group. Section 2 contains the operating
  instructions. Before you attempt to operate the machine, be sure you understand
  those instructions completely. Section 3 is the preventive maintenance section. It
  contains lubri­ cating instructions and instructions for maintain­ ing the machine in good
  operating condition. The information in this section is arranged in the same order
  as in Section 1. Section 4 gives the procedures for· troubleshooting. With each prob­
  lem, the possible causes of that problem are listed. Beside each cause is the
  action to take or item to check to solve the problem.
