• The Compact Loader is designed and manufactured by Bucyrus, the loader is an 8000 kg multi-purpose machine. This allows it to be used for general purpose work throughout the mine, which includes carrying heavy loads, materials and supplies.
• The motive force is provided by a 129 kW MWM turbocharged four-stroke inline six cylinder flameproof diesel engine package. Flameproofing of the system includes a wet scrubber system complete with exhaust and intake flame traps. The start system is pneumatic and the diesel control system (DCS) is an intrinsically safe electronic monitoring and shutdown system which prevents the engine running outside of the predetermined safe operating parameters.
• The engine power output is connected to the constant four-wheel drive system via a drive coupling through a torque converter and out to a four speed Dana/Spicer 32000 Series transmission to heavy duty Dana 113 inboard planetary with bevel gear and pinion axles.
• The Compact Loader is in a class of its own in today’s arduous mining conditions and is the most advanced machine available to perform the tasks required in the modern mine.
