The Pyott-Boone BELTBOSS is a conveyor monitoring and control system. This unit has been designed to simplify the implementation of the auxiliary safety systems typically installed in the starter box of a conveyor. The primary function is to protect the conveyor system from damage due to slip page, under speed, and material spills. Capability for implementation of dust suppression systems is also provided and it provides for a deluge system as well. Various troubleshooting aids and indicators are included in the system to make installation and mainte­nance easier. The BELT BOSS also has the ability to transmit its status to a remote monitoring station. This unit has been designed to be tamper resistant and simple to adjust with the push of a button.

Operation is controlled by an embedded microcontroller. Setup information is stored in an EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) which will retain the setup information even when power (AC and battery) is not present. A Watch dog timer circuit has been incorporated as an additional safety feature to insure that the micro controller is functioning properly.

Use of a 16 character, 2 line Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) provides easy to understand messages and a 16 button keypad to navigate a simple menu system make the unit easy to adjust and to understand. Transient suppression devices and state of the art components make the BELT BOSS a highly accurate, versatile, and reliable system.
