GDC2HP Rotary Blasthole Drill Controls and Indicators

1. Auxlllary Hydraulic Pressure Gauge:

Indicates the operating pressure of the open loop (auxiliary) hydraulic system.

2. Rotary Hydraullc Pressure Gauge:

Indicates the hydraulic pressure to the rotary drive.

3. Main Air Pressure Gauge:

Indicates compressor discharge air pressure.

4. Comp OIi Lamp:

Lights during startup and when air compressor loses adequate oil pressure.

5. Pulldown Hydraullc Pressure Gauge:

Indicates hydraulic pressure to the pulldown motor.

6. Comp Air/OIi Temperature Gauge:

Indicates compressor air temperature. (Compressor discharge temperature)

7. On/Off Switch:

Electrical switch that enables the starter, alternator, gauge, heater fan and lighting circuits.

8. Glow/Off/Start Switch:

Three-position switch that controls power to the optional glow plugs and starter.

9. Voltmeter:

Indicates charge status of the engine electrical system.

10. Temperature Gauge:

Indicates temperature of engine coolant.

11. OIi Pressure Gauge:

Indicates engine oil pressure.

12. Heater Fan Switch:

Controls cab heater fan.

13. Auxlllary

Lights Switch: (Optional) Controls auxiliary (running) lights.

14. Drlll Lights:

(Optional) Controls the mast lights used when drilling at night.

15. Mast Control:

Controls the jacks that raise and lower the mast.

16. Left Rear Jack Control:

Used to extend and retract left rear jack.

17. Front Jacks Control:

Used to extend and retract front jacks.

18. Right Rear Jack Control:

Used to extend and retract right rear jack.

19. Dust Collector Blower/Water Injection Pump Control:

(Optlonal) Engages dust collector blower in one position, water injection pump in other position, depending upon which type dust suppression is preferred. CONTROLS BI615891 PERATOR AREA-

20. Winch Control:

Controls operation of the winch.

21. Deck Wrench Control:

Controls the deck wrench used during breakout to clamp the drill pipe (prevent it from turning).

22. Breakout (Out/In) Control:

Used to position the breakout wrench for use (Swing Cylinder)

. 23. Breakout (Release/Engage) Control:

Controls operation of the breakout wrench (Clamp & Rotate Cylinders).

24. Pipe Rack Control:

(Optional) Used to position the pipe rack to set or remove a piece of pipe (Swing cylinder).

25. Center Gulde Control:

(Optional) Positions or retracts the center guide.

26. Engine Throttle:

Controls engine speed. Stops engine when in full rearward position.

27. Tram/Drlll Selector:

Determines the operating mode of Items 30 and 31 to tram or drill. When in center position, all brakes (tram & pulldown) are locked.

28. Bit Air Control:

Linear control that controls the on/off position of main air valve.

29. Pulldown Adj. Control:

Regulates the amount of hydraulic pressure available for pulldown.

30. Left Track/Rotation Control:

Controls operation ofllie left track when the rig 1s operated m the tram mode and rotation of the drill pipe in the drill mode. Pushing the control forward causes the left track to advance or the drill pipe to turn counterclockwise. Pulling the control toward the operator has the opposite result. Drill pipe rotation speed or track speed is determined by the amount the control is moved.

31. Pulldown/Rlght Track Control:

Controls operation of the right track when the rig is operated in the tram mode and operation of the pulldown in the drill mode. Pushing the control forward causes the right track to advance or the pulldown to raise. Pulling the control toward the operator has the opposite result. Speed of the operation is determined by the amount the control is moved.

32. Breakout Reverse Control:

Reverses the direction of rotation of the breakout wrench (Item 23).

33. Level:

Two-way level that permits leveling the rig without leaving the cab to check the mast.

34. Mast Base Lock:

Used to secure the mast in the up position.

35. Pipe Posltloner:

(Optional) Controls operation of pipe positioner used to support bottom of pipe while changing or adding pipe in angle drilling.

36. Pipe Rack Rotate:

(Optional) Controls rotation of carousel pipe rack to align top drive with any pipe in the carousel.

37. Pipe Rack Index Pin:

(Optional) Operates pin used to index and lock carousel pipe rack into position for loading or unloading of drill pipe. CONTROLS 3-3 BI615891 oeEBA1″0B ABEA 38. Dust Collector Timer On/Off: Controls electric pulse timer for dust collector. Should be on when dust collector is running, should be off ———-when-eolleetor-not-in-us,,,.——————————

39. Diesel Engine Tachometer:

(Optional) Displays engine speed in revolutions/minute. 40. Water Injection Flow Control: Regulates amount of water injected into air stream for dust control. Turning clockwise increases water flow, turning counter-clockwise decreases water flow.

41. Heater Water Valve:

Controls flow of hot water through cab heater coils.

42. Bit Air:

Indicates air pressure to the drill string.

43. Bit Lube On/Off:

Controls air flow to bit lube pump.

44. High Compressure Air Temperature:

Lights if air compressor discharge temperature exceeds temperature switch setting.

45. Holdback Adjust Control:

Regulates the amount of hydraulic pressure available for holdback of drill string.

46. Fuel Solenold By-Pass Switch:

To override low compressor oil pressure during initial start-up.

47. High/Low Pressure Control:

Selects high pressure or low pressure subtractive pilot valve for high or low range air pressure.

48.BLT Lube Flow Control :

Regulates amount drill oil injected into air stream for lubrication. (Older models only.) Newer models are equipped with a Bit Air Pressure gauge in this location.

49. Holdback On/Off:

In ON position switch also operation of Holdback System. Disengages Holdback System of OFF position.

50. Holdback Pressure Gauge:

Indicates hydraulic pressure to the Holdback System. 3.4
