GENERAL INFORMATION
The A-C Compressor rotary screw compressor has been specifically designed for blast hole drill service. The design of this assembly allows the installation in the most convenient area on the drill deck thus providing maximum walking space around the equipment for maintenance.
A-C Compressor’s engineers have worked closely with the blast hole drill engineers to ensure that the subassemblies have been installed and piped properly on the drill. Therefore, as the end user of the A-C Compressor screw compressor, you only need to follow the simple installation, operation and maintenance procedures recommended in this manual to ensure long and trouble-free service from your compressor.
Warranty
- The air end of your compressor package, when properly applied on blast hole drill service, will be protected with a two year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials from date of shipment
- . All other equipment in the package shall be covered by the manufacturers’ standard warranties. A-C Compressor has the option to adjust, repair or replace as conditions warrant. The purchaser shall assume responsibility for removal, reinstallation and freight.
Description
- The air end of your screw compressor package is an oil flooded, single-stage, twin screw, rotary type, with the latest asymmetrical profile design for optimum efficiency.
- (See Figures 1A, 1 B, 1 C; Page 2.) The suction (inlet) port is located on the top, drive shaft (inboard) end of the compressor. The discharge port is located on the side, outboard end.
- The air end is directly driven using a flexible coupling between the electric motor and the air end. The male rotor is driven by a gear mounted on an independent input shaft and a mating gear on the male rotor.
- The female rotor is driven by the male rotor because the rotors are meshed. (See Figure 1 A; Page 2). Each rotor is mounted with angular contact ball bearings at the rear or discharge end.
- This provides positive rotor location. The front or inlet end of each rotor is supported by single row roller bearing. This allows the rotor and cylinder to freely expand or contract during normal operation due to changes in temperature. The independent input drive shaft is supported by roller bearings.
