General:
The VShieldPerformance application allows you to analyze events and error messages from roof supports at the face (called shields in the following) after they occur by evaluating logfiles; using this information, these locations can then be optimized.

Shearer Face:
Problem-free mining depends to a great extent on the interaction of the mining machine and the
automatic sequences executed by the shields at the face, the so-called ASQs (Automatic Sequences).
Over the course of 24 hours, the logfile records all events and errors that occur at the shields
being used. Possible events when using a shearer include:
Ini.SRB
The sequence for the shield was triggered fully automatically by the shearer’s automatic operation
routine (SRB, Shearer Running Batch).
Ini.MAN
A problem occurred at one shield during automatic execution of the se- quence, and the automatic
sequence was initiated manually on the control unit (PMC-R) for this shield.
Manual
A problem occurred at one shield during automatic execution of the se- quence, and someone
initiated the sequence manually on the control unit (PMC-R) for this shield. Manual operation is
especially interesting for the evaluation, since this points clearly to a problem at this shield.
An error flag was set; it can be displayed separately for evaluation (see chapter “Events
and Errors” [🞂 25]).
