How are the operating instructions structured?
Chapter 1 contains an overview of the lattice extensions.
Chapter 2 contains information about the safety requirements.
In chapter 3 you will find specifications for operations planning, such as dimensions, weight,
identification and centre of gravity position of the lat- tice extension.
In chapter 4 and the following chapters, rigging and operation of lattice extensions is described.
Chapter 7 gives information on turning loads over, using lattice extensions. In chapter 8 you will
find how to drive a rigged crane on construction sites. Chapter 9 describes the maintenance of
lattice extensions.
Chapter 10 contains the index.
1.4.5 How do I find the information I need?
The operating instructions contain the following guides for orientation.
– The Table of contents contains a list of all chapters.
– The Table of contents before each chapter provides an overview of the topics it contains.
– The Index in chapter 10 gives an alphabetic list of keywords and search terms with a reference
to the relevant page in the operating instructions.
– Cross-references are labelled with an arrow (à) and refer to other pages in the operating
instructions. These pages contain more detailed informa- tion, or information that relates to the
topic in question.
Furthermore, you can use the cross-references to systematically familiar- ize yourself with
specific information on the truck crane or look up func- tions of individual elements.
An example for using the cross-reference is given in the GMK 5130-2/
-1 operating manual.
