What This RPSTL Is For
The M1083 Series 5-Ton 6×6 MTV Repair Parts and Special Tools List TM 9-2320-366-24P-1 Vol. 1 is the parts-authorization book used at unit, direct support, and general support to identify, requisition, and dispose of spares, repair parts, special tools, special TMDE, and other special support equipment for the MTV family. It is not a how-to maintenance narrative. Each illustrated figure is paired with a line-item list that gives item number, SMR code, CAGEC, part number, nomenclature, usable-on code, and quantity per figure so a mechanic can match a hardware piece on the truck to a stock number or vendor part number.
Headquarters, Departments of the Army and the Air Force issued this revision from Washington, D.C., on 20 October 2005. The cover and title page list every MTV variant this volume supports, with National Stock Number and End Item Code for each configuration, including cargo trucks with and without winch, long-wheelbase cargo, material-handling-equipment cargo, tractor, wrecker, dump, chassis, and airdrop cargo and dump models.
Vehicles, NSNs, and End Item Codes
Uncoded parts apply to all models. When a line is model-specific, the description column carries a usable-on code. Models printed on the title page are:

IMAGES PREVIEW
Taken together, the listing walks a maintainer from a dressed diesel engine in its shipping container through every major MTV subsystem that appears in Volume 1, then points to the remaining hydraulic, kit, armament, and index matter carried in the companion volume. Figure 1 shows the containerized engine; later figures explode cylinder head, block, crankshaft, mounts, fuel and cooling hardware, WTEC II/III controls, axles, air-brake valves, frames, cargo bodies, 15K and 30K winches, and the M1089 wrecker underlift and crane.
Reading an SMR Line and Finding a Part
Section I spells out the five-position SMR code. Source codes PA through PG are stocked items requisitioned by NSN. KD/KF/KB items come only as a kit. MO/MF/MH/ML/MD items are manufactured from bulk material listed in the Bulk group. AO/AF/AH/AL/AD items are assembled at the stated maintenance level. XA means order the next higher assembly; XB uses CAGEC and part number from salvage if needed; XD is ordered through normal channels by CAGEC and part number when no NSN is assigned.
Third-position maintenance codes C, O, F, H, L, and D tell who may remove, replace, and use the item. Fourth-position codes O, F, H, D, Z, and B tell who may completely repair it, or that it is nonrepairable. Fifth-position recoverability codes Z, O, F, H, D, L, and A control condemnation and special-handling rules.
When the NSN is unknown, the introduction directs you to the table of contents, the figure for that functional group, then the Figure and Item Number Index. When the NSN or part number is known, the NIIN index or the alphanumeric part-number index sends you straight to figure and item. Quantity column βVβ means the count varies by application. Bulk materials used to fabricate MO-coded items are listed in FIG. BULK; fabrication and assembly details are referred to TM 9-2320-365-20 and TM 9-2320-365-34 as printed in the special-information paragraphs.
Companion publications named in this RPSTL include TB 9-2300-365-15, TM 9-2320-365-10, TM 9-2320-365-10HR, TM 9-2320-365-20, TM 9-2320-365-34, and TM 9-2320-365-24P. Error reports are directed to DA Form 2028 via AEPS or TACOM-RI tech pubs.
Volume Note
The cover of this file is labeled Volume No. 1 of 2. The table of contents prints βVolume 2 of 2β beginning after Figure 433 (Group 22 data plates onward). The List of Effective Pages for this publication states a total of 1496 pages and lists Figure 1 through Figure 433 plus pages 434-1 through 503-1 and 1-1 through 433-1. Buyers who need every hydraulic-kit, special-purpose-kit, and index figure should confirm that the second volumeβs figure range is present in the copy they download.
Get the Parts Data on the Truck
With the M1083 Series 5-Ton 6×6 MTV Repair Parts and Special Tools List TM 9-2320-366-24P-1 Vol. 1 open beside the vehicle, a unit or support shop can identify a diesel engine container, cylinder-head gasket kit, WTEC III gear selector, CTIS valve, pressure-protection valve, 30K winch motor, M1089 underlift cylinder, or model-coded cargo-bed latch and then requisition it by NSN, CAGEC, and part number at the maintenance level the SMR code allows. Correct figure-to-item matching prevents ordering the winch-equipped part for a truck that has no winch, or a dump-body hose for a cargo variant. Instant PDF delivery after payment β no shipping wait β so the file can be opened on a shop computer, tablet, or printed page for the workbench.
