• A) On a new compressor
• Screw in the compressor suction and discharge valves completely (front seated)
• Remove the oil filler plug – insert the locally made dipstick and slowly rotate flywheel to ensure that the dipstick is at the bottom of the crankcase
• Keep oil level between the set limits.
• Note: using refrigerant hoses in excess of 5 m for discharge, liquid and suction need additional oil in the compressor if the system has never been used before Add 30 cc of oil for each additional 2 m of refrigerant hose Max. hose lenghts must not exceed 15 m
• B) On a compressor already filled with refrigerant – screw in the compreBsor suction‚ and discharge valves completely (front seated) – remove the oil filler plug slowly as a small amount of R-12 escapes from the compressor at this moment
• Insert dipstick and slowly rotate the flywheel to ensure the dipstick is at the bottom of the cranckcase – keep oil level between the set limits – connect vacuum pump to discharge and suction gauges of the compressor using the manifold kit – evacuate the compressor to 711 mm hg – stop vacuum pump and close the low side and high side hand valves on the manifold
• Ppen the suction service valve on the compressor until a minimum pressure of 3,45 bar in the crankcase is reached
• Close the suction service valve (front seated), open the hand ‚ valvcs of the manifold and operate the vacuum pump until a vacuum of 711 mm hg is again reached
• Open and backseat the discharge service valve — open and midseat the suction service valve to fill the system with refrigerant to the specified limits (see further on)
