1. Introduction

The opening chapter sets out the truck’s intended purpose, CE labelling, the EC declaration of conformity and the identification label layout (model, serial number, year of manufacture, unladen weight, battery weight limits, nominal motor power, battery voltage and nominal capacity). It also defines permissible use, normal and special climatic operating ranges, unauthorised use, the symbol system used throughout the manual, and the correct disposal route for components and batteries.

2. Safety

This is the chapter to read before anything else. It covers safety regulations for handling consumables — oils, hydraulic fluid and battery acid — including flammability, toxicity, corrosion and slip hazards, plus permissible consumables and disposal. It also documents emissions data (measured LPAZ = 59 dB(A), uncertainty KPA ±2.5 dB(A)) and upper-limb vibration values (< 2.5 m/s²), residual dangers and residual risks, stability limits, the definition of responsible persons (operating company, specialist, drivers), driver rights and duties, prohibition of use by unauthorised persons, and the requirements for regular safety inspection under FEM 4.004.

3. Overviews

A visual orientation chapter. It contains the truck overview diagram with numbered components (drive wheel, traction motor, pump unit, electromagnetic brake, horn, lift cylinder, Digicode, load arms, platform), the tiller control layout, the battery charge indicator with its 10-bar display and alarm LEDs, and the optional Digicode (LFM Go) keypad with its full programming tables — administrator code, operator codes, automatic switch-off delay and default PIN values. 4. Use

The largest chapter and the one most owners will live in. It opens with the pre-start checklist, then walks through charging a gel or lead battery from a wall-mounted charger, checking the brake, emergency stop, horn and anti-crush safety device. Driving is covered in detail — safety guidelines, defining directions, start-up, selecting Tortoise or Hare mode, forward and reverse travel, reversing direction, driving on slopes, OptiSpeed, gentle and moderate braking, the parking brake, the Creep Speed function and Standby mode. 5. Maintenance

It starts with general maintenance information, the service plan, personnel training and qualification requirements (including battery maintenance staff), and ordering spare parts. Maintenance safety guidelines and the technical specifications for inspection and maintenance are followed by step-by-step access to the technical compartment, the lower cover, front cover, pump unit, reducer and brake.
