Bleeding Air from the Fuel Injection Equipment
The fuel injection equipment includes all equip- ment from the fuel tank to the fuel injection noz~ zles. Air in the fuel injection equipment will prevent the fuel from being properly injected .
a) To bleed air from the fuel pipe, loosen the small screw on top of the fuel cock. After bleeding the air. firmly re-tightcn the screw.
b) To bleed air from the fuel injection pump, loosen the screw and bleed the air inside the pump. Then firmly tighten the screw.
c) Loosen the nipple on the fuel injection noz- 218 Side of the fuel injection pipe. Put the regulator handle in the operating position, then turn the starter motor until bubbled fuel comes out. Bleed the air and then firmly rc- tighten the lock nut on the high-pressure fuel pipe. d) Check for proper injection. Turn the crankshaft over with the starter motor; if you hear the sound of fuel being injected, all the air has been completely bled.
